Jeff Mach's Labyrinth

Hello, everyone! I posted to hp_nj some time ago and realized it might be worthwhile asking here as well. From September 28-29th, an event will be happening in Edison, NJ called Jeff Mach's Wicked Labyrinth, and it might be a wonderful place for a meetup. A good number of people helping to create it are slashers of one sort, or another. *raises hand* And many of them are into HP slash. *raises hand again* What does this mean for everyone?

We're trying to make this into as much of a geeky, fan-friendly event as possible. We're having a game called Slash: the RPG there with, you guessed it, slash! The above banner refers to that. There'll be gaming, Pocky, anime, movie screenings, a Rocky Horror Puppet Show, music concerts, story read-alouds, a Buffy musical sing-along, networking for artists/writers/cartoonists, a Cthulhu LARP, good food and interesting vendors, a lot of people running around wearing costumes or garb, and a lot more. It's an amalgamation, a mixture of Renaissance faire, convention and festival.

Admittedly, I've not been to any conventions myself, unless a shoebox_project meetup a few years ago counts. I'm not certain how they run. But we're offering an entire hotel's worth of entertainment. If people want to go in groups and share hotel rooms, or find ways of getting to the event, more information is available on the website, along with details about the event, pricing, etc.

Would you be interested in going to this, as an HP meetup, or individually? It'd be awesome to have another HP meetup, where fans can talk about the aftermath of the seventh book while enjoying themselves. We want you there. We want to work with you to make this interesting and exciting. And the more HP fans (and slashers in general) that go, the more interesting it gets. And, frankly? The more slashers that go, the greater the chances of convincing the great and powerful Jeff Mach of reading that long Snape/Harry story I've wanted to show him. :)

I'd definitely be interested - this sounds like a lot of fun and I've never been.

Excellent! It should be a good event. Any questions you might have about it, send 'em my way. And by the way, hello! :)

This is hilarious, I went to college with Jeff Mach, we used to do Rocky Horror together. I live in Edison, and while I will not be at the convention, as it is not a child friendly venue, I would love to go to a HP slasher's meetup. I can help organize, as well, since I live here.

Really? What help would you like to do?
I am wary of that Jeff Mach guy. I hear he's kind of a freak.
